Farewell to Pam Auerbach

Tom Chow, Pam Auerback,
and Bodhidharma Scroll
Pam, a long time member of CBPS, is relocating to northern California. She will be missed very much by our members. Pam began studying Chinese brush painting with Jean Shen 13 years ago and calligraphy with Tom Chow 5 years ago.  Pam specializes in painting landscapes, both western and eastern, and has been inspired by landscapes she has seen during her extensive travels. She is also a very accomplished calligrapher, creating calligraphic poems on much of her work.

The beautiful scroll, created by Tom Chow, was given as a farewell gift to Pam by CBPS members. It depicts Bodhidharma, who is considered the first patriarch of Zen Buddhism in China. Legend says that he was from the high caste of Brahma from India and while in China he meditated for 9 years facing a wall.
