The Chinese Brush Painting Society was recently asked to participate in Asian Multicultural Day at El Capitan High School in Lakeside. One of our member artists demonstrated how to paint the bamboo stalk and leaves. The students then had the opportunity to create their own bamboo and leaf painting. With help and guidance of one of our member artists, the students also created a large dragon painting for 2024 “Year of the Dragon”. In addition, the students got to try their hand at writing calligraphy for the word “Dragon”. The painting of the dragon and the dragon calligraphy were given to the school to remind them of this ancient art style and their Asian Multicultural Day.
