Wendy Nakamura, a member of the Chinese Brush Painting Society, is a third generation Japanese American and talented artist. She annually participates in the Japanese Cultural Bazaar - a celebration of Asian culture. At this year’s event, held at the Buddhist Temple in San Diego, she demonstrated the ancient art of Asian brush painting. She demonstrated how to load calligraphy brushes with color, ink and water; and then demonstrated two popular brush painting subjects: Bamboo and Buddha with Wisteria.
Wendy’s artworks include original hand painted paintings, scrolls, fans for Obon dancing, jewelry (earrings and pendants), and greeting cards.
