CBPS artists partnered with the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum to promote Chinese brush painting and calligraphy as part of the February 2017 First Friday Nights at Liberty Station. Over 200 people strolled through the gallery to watch Joanne Sullivan, Lisa Curry, and Portia La Touche painting roosters, bamboo, willow trees, and the Chinese characters for heart, blessings, and longevity. Many visitors, with Lisa’s coaching, walked away with their own calligraphic artwork!
